Personally, I feel that gun control is a subject that is tragically overlooked in this country and abroad. I live in the UK and even though gun related crime is low here its on the increase and it won't be long before we have a situation similar to that of America.
Gun control is getting out of hand and personally I feel the only way to control the use of guns (and this may be looked upon as being a bit drastic) is to completely ban the use of the gun.
As the caption says: Over 25'000 people are killed each year in gun-related crimes - I think its time something was done.
I agree, there's no reason for guns to exist outside the military. Your average person does not need to run around packing heat. If you get mugged or if someone breaks into your house, well tough: this happens to hundreds of people a day, why should you feel that you can't deal with it like everyone else does? No one needs a gun.
How the #%*!? do you "deal with it" if that mugger is desperate for his next fix of meth or Oxy and dosen't like the fact that the 10 bucks you have in your wallet isn't gonna cut it? And so he decides to slit your throat out of spite?
"well tough...deal with it..." I think I need some time to think of a better response. It's not every day that someone manages to leave me speechless!!! For now, I'll just say that you'd change your tune dramatically if your demographic shifted from "control freak" to "victim." Not everyone wants to own a gun. Not everyone NEEDS to own a gun. But unless you're built like a NFL linebacker, or have the skills of Bruce Lee, the gun remains one of the best self-defense tools in the right hands.
And by the way, the artist says that gun crime is on the rise in the UK in 2004? I Googled "UK Gun Ban" and the first hit was from BBC, confriming what I already thought:
Handguns have been OUTLAWED in the UK for the PAST NINE YEARS...!!!
Golly. So you say gun crime was on the rise in 04. Knife crime must be on the rise there too, since they recently asked all the good people to turn those in too!
You think...for a second...it might be the *people,* not the tool?

I am writing a paper on gun control in my English 101 class and I was wondering if i could use your picture as a visual aid in supporting my claim. I would appreciate it greatly if I could
